I don't think it's anything new age.
How many of the new jets do you think use those old school gunsights.
Like the one clearly visible in the shot.

If I were to wager a guess, I'd say a Sabre, a T-33 or maybe a Hunter.

Twin seat, rear appears to be higher than front, delta wing? front seat hud? no apparent rear seat hud. I cant figure it... yet....

No Sabre, no Hunter (side-to-side seats), no T-33.
The Royal Airforce didn't and doesn't have any of them.

My next guess would be one of those Harrier trainers.
