Sorry if this is the wrong place but I have a question. I want to cut out an aircraft from a screenshot and put into a picture. I know how to put it into the picture, but I don't know how to crop the aircraft out. I'm using Ulead Photo Impact 8.

I hope you can help me out. I've been battling with this all day... Sad

If it was Adobe PS I could help you, look for a selection tool or read the help files? Grin

First off, I use PSP 9, so I can't give you an exact tool.  But in PSP I use a combination of the lasso tool with varying tolerances, and the 'background eraser" tool.   I don't prefer one over the other, it all depends on the shot.  But 9 times out of 10 I use both of them on each shot.

I get  the aicraft in the pose i want, and put it up to 100,000 ft (max alt) and no weather, select my angle and shoot, then you have a perfect shot of the a/c and only a blue background to remove, with the magic wand tool, tolerance around 25, but down to 5 if the aicrfat and sky are simlar colours.

Pretty good idea!
I just spend hours with the erasor tool drawing round the edge of the aircraft. Fun fun fun. Roll Eyes

well no, but just for cycling round the a/c, make it run smoother and generally easyer to use, espec on my lower end system
