Wht do you say they are following them.  They are putting 7.0L V8 in the Z06 and those smaller cars have always had 4-cylinders-even the smaller cars back in the old days did.

I meant the looks (in response to "it looks a bit ricey")
The Vette will always be better than "sakie suckers"

Warmed a bit...
Give me one of those Japanese clay vases with some warm rice juice and I am set...........  Grin

Say John, have you ever potted a Sake carafe?

I actually think the new vette looks more like the new Viper than anything else.  The lights, "mouth" grill thing, and hood all have lines that look like a viper to me.  I think this is especially true for the Z06 with its small air intake on the hood.  Anyway, I sure see a resemblence.

Yes, sake is great stuff.  Most westerners don't realize that there are MANY different kinds.  Very regional...... like micro-breweries for beer.  In Japan, just asking for "sake" is like going to France and just asking for "wine".   Wink

Yes Dave... I make sake tokkuri and guinomi (cups) along with numerous other Japanese type pottery forms.  Here's an image of a sake set of mine for warm sake (poor quality scan, unfortunatley) :

...

If you haven't tried it.... on a nice hot July day pour some sake over some ice chips.  I learned that one when a group of Japanese potters were visiting my studio a few years ago.

best,

...............john

John, that is totally awesome! I always wondered if you did Sake potting and that is some real nice work!!
What are you running?  350CI's of potting clay? What RPM's are you peaking at when the mold is ready to fold?  Roll Eyes

Love the Texture and color. Is that 1986 Corvette Yellow,  mixed with 1 pint of pastel brown # 6. That is what my headers looked like when I first turned my 327ci over.

Did you bring that model to Japan when you were there recently?

Maybe the designers at GM were having a little bit of sake when they designed the Vette.  Or maybe they decided that it would be nice if their cars all looked the same and had the same engine? Roll Eyes

All the major compaines do that, its not like its a GM thing.  In fact, the first company to start making all their cars look the same and use the same engine was Ford.

As for the 'Vette, it's a shame they spent millions redesigning the thing then put a Camaro hoodscoop on it...  Roll Eyes

You know, I hadn't noticed it-but your right, the front end of the scope does have the same (or very simular) tapering to the scope that was on the 4th generation Camaro SS.  Of course, I wouldn't call it a "hood scope" though-if you look closely, it actually looks like the Corvette has the same hood if it has the scope or not.  The scope is actually a part of the front clip, which to my knowledge is a fairly unique feature (at least to American cars).  But, I do agree that it looks like a Camaro scope-especially the way the Camaro had to points that start out in front of the scope and come to the edges of it.

But-to be fair, whats wrong with Camaro's (for some reason, I thought you had like a 1999 V6 Camaro)?   Thats the best car GM ever made!  Grin Wink Smiley
