Hi all,

My friend has 9800XT he wants to upgrade the bios on.

I have 2 specific questions.

1. What is the utility needed to do it, and is the utility specific to his card's manufacturer or is there a general bios upgrade util that flashes all the 9800XT's ?

2. What bios file do I need, and is the bios file manufacturer specific as well, or do the bios files work on any 9800XT ?

To a later BIOS, he thinks there might be a BIOS update that will help some crashing issues.

We just looked at the manufacturers website and didnt find a bios update for it............ so we are looking at other hardware in the system  as a possible cause.

Thanks

The graphics card chipset BIOS is less than likely a cause of system instability. I too suggest to look for other causes.

BIOS's would not be the source of the problems. Maybe its a driver conflict.
