OK. I got me a new ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and it made a lot of difference compared to my old Nvidia FX5600. Now what I wish to know is what kind of settings (display and individual games) are best fot the specific application. For example: My monitor is a Dell P990. Whats the best resolution? Do I match the game resolution settings as the display? How do I adjust frame rates to get the best result? Any tweaks you guys got to offer?

Turn off vertical sync.
Your filtering settings (AA & AF) will probly differ from mine, but for fast FPS try x2Q AA and x4 AF.
Set resolution to 1024x768x32, note the FPS, then re-test at the next higher resolution, etc. I think 1152x864x32 will be about right for high FPS on that card.
Set the highest refresh rate your monitor will handle for the selected resolution.
In FS9 for example:
Mainboard: Asus P5K-Premium, CPU=Intel E6850 @ x8x450fsb 3.6ghz, RAM: 4gb PC8500 Team Dark, Video: NV8800GT, HDD: 2x1Tb Samsung F3 RAID-0 + 1Tb F3, PSU: Antec 550 Basiq, OS: Win7x64, Display: 24" WS LCD

Same card I have Bubblehead. Good card too. I would recommend also getting the Omega drivers. These are enhanced drivers based on the Catalyst drivers. They have their own Control Panel so if you are using ATI's drivers, you would have to remove the ATI Control Panel and drivers and then install the Omegas. I have been using them for quite awhile now, just downloaded the latest and installed them.
From Omega you will also get the ATI Tool. THis will allow you to run tests on the cards Core and Memory clocks and then overclock them. I could tell you what mine are set at the card runs fine there at those settings.
I have a NEC Multisync LCD1700V monitor. (17") I run the monitor resolution at 1280X1024. Most games I run at 1024X768 and this seems to work out well for me.
Systemax Sabre Ultimate gaming rig.&&&&I got all the goodies and all the power I need to run anything thrown at me for the next two months!
