It was getting dark when we finally arrived in Savannah. Apologies to anyone who hails from there for no photos but we planned on spending the night there before continuing with our trip. After an excellent night out in downtown Savannah we left directly after breakfast. We had hotel reservations in Washington DC so were running on a tight schedule.
Ah, we're now entering Virginia.

Spotted this through the windscreen & took a quick shot.

On the way to Charleston. Not sure what the bridge is called but it's a magnificent looking structure.

What a beautiful place Charleston is. Wish we'd had more time to enjoy it.

We made time for a tour of USS Yorktown while we were there. Schedule is tight but we're on holiday & allowed for things like this. Note the clouds in some of the photos. We were being chased by a hurricane throughout our trip. Fortunately this veered off back out to sea & the weather wasn't too bad.

I see no ships. My co-driver checking the harbour before we leave for pastures new. Come to think of it I ended up doing most of the driving.

Our next stop is North Carolina where we plan to spend the night. On the way we found time to stop in Charlotte & visit the Civil War museum. This place reeks of history.
No pics of this part of the trip. Sorry but I was using my old Canon Sureshot & was running short of film. We made Greensboro & met my brother's friend who treated us to a slap-up meal in the Greensboro Hilton. Time to hit the road again so see you in Washington DC ..........
