All right...I got 2 major problems...

Lets start with the more important one...

Today, before I left for school, I left my machine on, and had nothing besides a d/l window open...

...when I got home, I got the dreaded blue screen, so I rebooted, and now my computer is acting like shit...

...I did a full systems scan and turned up no hardware and software problems...

any thoughts?

And the less important one...

...My iPod froze...

..Yes, you heard right...an iPod froze! Shocked

I didn't even know that it was possible, until it happened to me...

And now...with Apple and all its wisdom and simplistic design, there is no 'Off' button, so i can't even reboot!...

..son of a bitch...

any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff...about to shoot his iPod..but that would void his warranty... Tongue

With the Ipod crash you've got to leave it for the battery to run down. Or, actually, try holding down the play and menu buttons. That resets it I believe.

Then plug your ipod into your computer and download the latest software onto it. Wink

How old is it? If it's a 3rd generation one then it'll have run out my the morning. If it's a new one, then you'll be waiting a wee bit longer. Grin

An Ipod is a sealed unit. You can't. You have to let it run down by its self.

Here's how i fix all my apple products (Yes, I have bought apple products, but in my defense, I was 10 and stupid):

Take a blunt object (like a hammer) and use it to apply great amounts of energy to the aforementioned product.

as for the Microsoft product, just sue them.

Hahahhahaha. Zen's. What a joke. Everyone who owns one always go on about how it's so superior, cooler and more usable than a iPod. And why do they say that? Because they havn't brought an iPod.

iPods are sleek, shiny, user friendly and fairly reliable. Zen's are bricklike, ugly, crap for browsing through your music and I very much doubt whether there is a jot of difference in reliablity.

It's not an argument.

It's undeniable fact as stated by me. Grin

having seen the Micro next to the Ipod i would say the Micro is alot nicer looking. Haven't seen the full size one, but i would take the micro over the Ipod if given the choice. But since i cant ever justify £200 for either it aint going to happen.

Yeah everyone I talk too that as a Zen has no probs and if battery dies I can buy a ew one not need to ship t anywhere. Apple is a joke, I saw them advertising "Whether browsing through photos or playing UT 2004 the 32 MB ATI graphics card will give you the best of quality." That ad alone makes me never want to see an apple again besides all the Apple ppl I know are stuck up and when I ask them why Apples are better they plainly say PCs are often flimsy.... Ipod, Apple? Aint happenin here

Zen is one of the latest and best out there.

Ipod is one of the first out and far from the best.

Maybe so. But the scroll wheel on the ipod and the menu layout beats the Zen by a long way. And as far as sound quality goes, inless you are some sort of machine I really don't think anyone can tell any real difference. Tongue

If Still under warranty-Take it back and complain.

If not-Cut it open, and disconnect the wires to the power source. Then solder them back into place.

A soundphile can easily tell the difference. I can.

The bit rate of some of the lower end ipods is just atrocious.

Well, just an update...I got both problems fixed...about 2 weeks ago Tongue Roll Eyes

I think the Zen Micro is much nicer than the iPod, but I really don't like the hard drive space, 4 gigs, heck 40 gigs isn't even enough Shocked....but the Zen (full sized one) is plain ugly...

My iPod is still on warranty, its like a 3 year warranty, and if it breaks, I just have to send it in and they give me a brand new one, (I still got more than 2 years leff)...but I really didn't think it was worth the 50 buck shipping charge that I have to pay for a problem that I can solve...

...right now I'm tryin to see if I can mod the apple drivers to fix this crashing problem...but I have no idea wether its legal or not... Tongue Roll Eyes

Its not illegal, but you do break the license agreement.

Technically, when a license agreement is broken, the product it protects is destroyed in accordence with the agreement (read the eula).

However, who is gonna find out...
