I made up my mind to visit as many air displays as possible last year (2004). Starting with the Spring Air Display at Old Warden on May 2nd I took my camera to at least one event almost every weekend throughout the season. I took these at RNAS Yeovilton on 18th September, my first ever visit to this famous air station. The weather was horrible, probably the worst day for an air show during the whole summer. This made photography difficult to say the least but all things considered it wasn't a bad day out. Here's some of my memories of that day.
Well done the Navy.

Great shots Doug. Still remember that show well. Figures the last time i will get to see yeovils airshow had to be awful weather, after 2 years of temps in the 80's. Looking forward to your 2005 shots throughout the year.

If the weather was anything as bad as the kemble air day I know what you mean
.......... I'm sure we had hail at some point or another
I wish id managed to get down to Yeovilton for that
Super photos
Is that it for RNAS Yeovilton now, or was that somewhere else? So sad all these bases going
Birdy.

Not sure quite what's happening Birdy. From what they said that was the last time we'll see the Sea Harriers. The museum's still there & it seems there's a Yeovilton Air Day this year. Hope the weather is better.
PS. Here's a list of major events in the UK this year.

Thanks for sharing these! Too bad about the overcast; sure de-saturates the colors. But that helicopter in silhouette shot wouldn't have turned out so nicely in "good" light.
