Shocked  £125 for a weekend ticket, plus camping, plus the inflated beer/food prices and even then you get filthy toilets...maybe im gettin old, but i just cant be bothered....

Nothing except World War III (SimV edition).

I'm still thinking about going on a festival this year, but I'm not sure whether I should go to Wacken (metal 24/7) or to Southside/Hurricane festivals. I even considered a trip to Hungary, for Sziget (probably Europe's biggest festival).

Ah well, it depends on the line-up anyways...

I think the situation is getting ridiculous. Not only do you have to book months in advance for any event but the prices are a joke & getting worse. This all started when ticket sales were organised by agencies & not the venues themselves. I don't see me attending any concerts while this is the case.

Too right Doug, prices these days are ridiculous Undecided
I decided to boycott all gigs/concerts in my local area after I was told it was gonna cost £30 to see an unsigned local band Undecided

To me, the problem is : as the line-ups get better, more people want to see them, which means the organisers feel the need to charge more Angry
Yet, the more people go to these shows, the more prices will rise, It's a lose/lose situation for music fans these days.
What with CD's costing near-on £20 it's getting pathetic.

Is there anybody else who feels that the cost of CD's these days, is what drives people to download illegally?
As for concerts, I'd much rather pay for the trip into Swindon to watch Ice Hockey than go to see some band that charge £30 entrance Undecided

My rant over,

Carl

The whole original point of festivals, were to allow those who couldn't afford a concert would get a chance to see their fav bands. Organisers have forgotten this.
