Stage 1: Go to the local Computer shop. Buy a faster processor.

Sorted.... Grin...!

Alternative: Go to....

http://www.overclockers.com

Read the instructions. Overclock your existing processor. Get it totally wrong and fry it.... Cry...!

Then...

Stage 2: Go to your local Computer shop. Buy a faster processor and leave it alone... Wink...!

Sorted... Grin...!

Paul... Wink...!

Overlocking is done through the bias.

You can increase the fsb or the multiplier to increase your clock rate. Beaware of tempature increases and make sure you have enough thermal protection.

If you have no idea what a bias is or how to access it, it might be a good idea to read around a bit beofre actually attemping to overlock.

Bias = BIOS yes??  Wink

Make sure you read up well on overclocking before starting and that you understand all the risks and how much it could stress your system.  We really dont want to be seeing a thread with the likes of 'Ooops I fried my CPU'  Cooling is the most important thing as Auto says.  Keep it cool and you should have no worries.

...then, after you have emptied you Piggy-Bank in buying and frying processors, you finally come to the conclusion that there was really nothing wrong with the processor you had in the first place...!

It performed perfectly adequately in the what was expected of it....
...and if it didn't, then it would have been better to have gone out and bought a slightly faster processor at a very slight increase in price...
..leave it alone..
...and notice how reliable it is... Wink... Grin...!

Cheers all... Grin...!

Paul.

P.S.. I have found that by the time my existing processor is getting a bit slow for my current applications, a newer, faster processor costs less than my old one... 8)...!

I know how, but you need to find out for yourself.

It's the unwritten code of Geekdom.

This forum has no real practical value.    Grin

Yeah Congos right you wont find to many guides on it for the "geekdom" and just kinda if you cant figure it out or do enugh reasearch to learn the ins and outs you will end up doing more hard than good. You can just overclock and call it good im afraid

On a side note Autopilot you know we are all eagerly waiting to see what that FX 55 can do with ure Vapo Grin

Currently, its running at 3450 mhz.

I can't push it futher without crashing. I still get a random crash every now and then, so I might drop it a bit more.
