A couple of weeks ago, I decided  to document a typical workday. Unfortunately, these were all shot with a cheesy disposable camera (and processed at the local chain drugstore), because I have to be very discreet with the picture-taking at the job site I'm going to today, and those cameras are very small... hope they're not too bad.

0515 hrs... what the hell is that noise? Oh, right, it's the coffeemaker, grinding beans. good thing I set it to go off this morning, 'cuz I ignored the alarm clock about 15 minutes ago...(yes, I really took this picture just as I woke up. Forgot the flash would be so brutal... whoa!!!)
...

"Hey, Sleepyhead; you hungry?" Peg is like: "I'll get up when I see that food in my bowl... now go away." Peg was spoiled rotten when I got her; no keeping her off the sofas. However, she only sleeps on this one- a decent compromise. Most of the furniture here is found, donated, or got cheap, so it's no big deal. But boy, does she drool...

...

A study in contrast: Left: Peg's breakfast. Right: Mine. Wait- did I say contrast?
...

0615: Time to head out into the cold light of dawn for my commute. This is NJ Railroad Ave., on the east side of the highway and RR tracks, looking north. I'm headed for Penn Station Newark, about 10 blocks away, to catch the PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) train to the WTC, then hop a NYC subway to Brooklyn Heights.
...

Some glimpses of the strange sprawling urban/industrial landscape between Newark and Jersey City- sometimes quite lovely at sunrise...

...

NEXT:WTC and Jay St., Bklyn

Yes... it tends to clog, and the day before, I had a little "accident" unclogging it. Didn't clean it until... oh, Sunday, I guess. I could really use a maid... Grin
