Guys is there a way to switch the 1% flight model into the stock aircraft?  I thought I read somewhere it was possible but can't find any post on it.  Most of the 1% have a more realistic flight model but are not as detailed, usually cockpit.  If so can anyone post step by step instructions?  If not instructions to replace the stock with the 1% so as not to crash the game.  Thanks.  Scott

I have both installed.  I just edit my campaigns so they use the 1% aircraft instead of stock.  It's generally not a good idea to replace or delete the default aircraft, because it screws up the default spawns/missions.  However, there are lines in the cfg and xml that you can replace with ones from the 1% A/C.  I haven't the slightest idea which ones, though.

This is a summary of a couple of posts at SOH

1% FM in stock planes

First off there is no stock 109E, only a G6 and G10. Both of these are two generations later than the E model so they would be underpowered and under gunned. There are 1% versions of both these so why not just download those and the weapons pack; they won't bite?
Secondly, yes you can swap the FMs (air, xdp and cfg files) for the stock ones but you need to do some name editing of files and such and why would you want to? If you must, basically the 1% files you substitute should be renamed to match the stock ones and the sim= and model= entries in the cfg should be changed to match the cfg being replaced and the ModelName= entry in the xdp file should as well.

I have taken all the stock planes and emptied the folder and replaced it with a complete 1% plane. I rename all the folders, rename the names in the cfg file and xdp files and the game thinks the stock bf-109G-6 is still there but a "good" 109G is there instead! That makes the stock campaign a 1% campaign without modifying anything and only decent planes will spawn as enemies.
The only thing stock about my planes is the name!

When first attempting this, copy each stock plane to an outside folder to try this. Then remove the old stock plane to another outside folder (name that org stk AC) and put the converted one in and run the game. If it does not work, replace it with the original stock one and take the converted one back out and run through the names again until you get it right. There are always people here to help.

I'm in the middle of doing it. You have to know basically how to make stand alone planes as well. There is stuff on that also at SOH

Mongoose thanks for the info.  I was starting to think most people here jumped ship for other flight sims or something.
