Landing gear animation (Read 224 times)

I've created a landing gear for my a/c and animated it. But for some strange reason when I load the a/c if FS04 the gear doesn't want to retract. I named all of the components either c_gear_x, l_gear_x and r_gear_x (where "x" is a name I've chosen for each part)

Any help would be great

Thanks

Not exactly the same thing but it may help, I lost the nose gear "wheelsteer" feature after tweaking my landing gear animations.  To overcome this the entire gear part was selected and all parent/child links were removed, then parts were realigned and relationships re-established.  This resulted in the feature working again - it might be worth a try if nothing else works.

another thing to consider ... your "_x" suffix

I've seen cases where the animated part is not recognized when the tag has an alpha suffix, but will work with a numeric suffix.

That is to say that

l_gear_strutA may not work, but l_gear_01 does.

I have also found that when you number the parts out of order, they will not work either. like c_gear_42 and there is only 3 items.

I went ahead and renamed all of the suffixes to 01,02,....etc. But it still won't work in FS  ??? Does the .air files have to have something about the animation or is it separte?

Just to clarify, frame 0 is fully retracted, frame 100 is fully extended, and frame 200 is full suspension?

Matrix,

Your problem is most likely caused in the aircraft config file. If by chance you used an exiting aircraft container to house the model and there was no entry for using a retraceable gear like the Cessna 172 for instance. Changing names on the parts isn’t going to help.

If this is the case try for a moment to export the model into the Lear 45 and see if the gear starts to work.

Problem solved. I was using the Cessna 182 config file. I loaded my a/c into the lear45 as you suggested and it all work perfectly. Thanks

Ultimately, it would be very beneficial for you to download and read the Aircraft Container SDK.  This explains all the parameters in the aircraft.cfg file, albeit sometimes vaguely.

The contact points information would have been the key for you in this instance.
