I don't know if this has been aksed before, so I'll give it try...

Since there are many people here who tend to make aircraft photos themselves, I thought about creating a photo contest for board members. People can enter two photos they made themselves, showing an aircraft (or airport).
I'd allow cropping, changing the levels, contrast and brightness,...

This doesn't have to happen every month. Because during winter, you don't visit an airport or airshow every month.
I know some people don't have good and expensive equipment, but an original photo (eg an AN-225 inverted under a bridge  Cheesy) can beat a HQ sharp photo of a 737 on a ramp... if you know what i mean.

Just a thought.  Wink

You dont need expensive equiptment to take a good photo. thats for sure. I must admit i have been lucky with my camera equiptment with my dads interest in photography. i like the idea but too few people here really paticipate with photos, Yourself, Doug, Dave and myself seem to be the regular contributors although with bad weather, it seems to have slowed down alot lately.

I'd volunteer to be a judge Grin I am, after all, a professional photographer and have judged quite a few photo comps.

Nice idea Bones but count me out. I never pretended to be a proper photographer & although I'm proud of my efforts I can't compete with you guys. I take my photos for my own amusement & satisfaction. If others enjoy them that's great but I've never been the competitive type.
