When joining VATSIM do you need a broadband connection.  I'm using a 49k connection speed.  Is that enough ???

Hi Chris
It is possible to join Vatsim on a dial up connection yes.
Though you may experience some communication problems using AVC (Advanced Voice Client). Don't attempt to use any other voice client though.

However sometime in the near future Squawkbox three will be coming out and I am told it may not be possible then so if you can you should get broadband

Well, not really. As far as I know SB3 will be released by the end pf March, will incorporate all features in one piece of software enabling the pilot to open multiplayer session, connect to VATSIM and offer voice facility with one button. It will be very light though and there will be no problem with dial up.
