Thank you all for trying to enjoy these small, jaggy images... here are the last of 'em. The "Biggest Little Airshow in the World" always ends the show with a few fun, loose-formation circuits by some fine vintage iron...

First, the amazingly-restored "Legend Airways" DC3 picks up her skirts to strut her stuff in the air; this big  mama even has bud vases in the cabin for fresh-cut flowers. Real class.
...

Silver Stearman  is next... a real beauty.
...

Followed by a great SNJ... and there's a Tiger Moth! An unevenly-matched "race" is developing here...
...

Wait a sec- what the-? THAT'S no warbird... it's the LET "Bumblebee"! So that thing actually flies...!?
...

Behold the mighty B-25 Mitchell...
...

Ahhh, Mustang time. Life is good. Very nice, especially the high-speed pass right on the deck...
...

Mustn't forget this terrific C47 in Air Force livery...
...

And here's an awesome Corsair... this pilot did a few Cuban-8s and such, after the others had landed. Showoff... hell, I'd show off, too!! Smiley Smiley

I wish you wouldn't do this to me. Every time I see the word Sussex I think you mean the real one. Tongue Cheesy

Mind you, that looks like a pretty good show. Wink

LOL!! What- do you think Sussex, NJ is not real? What is it, frikkin' Brigadoon, or something?  Wink Cheesy Well, it is magical for one weekend a year, so...
Besides, I've started several "Sussex" threads already, and they're all the same: strictly on the Jersey side (whoops, I mean NEW Jersey).  But don't worry, that's the last. Unless I make it to this year's show with a digital camera... Cheesy!!!

Yes, these lousy caps and my old scans really don't do it justice. You know how it is...

LOL I'm only joshing as you know. Grin I'm sure you also know by now that I was born & bred in the real county of Sussex, England. It's been here since Saxon times. Sussex literally means South Saxons. England means Angle Land.

Yeah, yeah, we know all about it  Roll Eyes Wink.  Not surprisingly, Sussex is also a county here in NJ.  "Angle Land", huh? Now, see, I heard it different: "Angel Land". But that's OK; I think yours suits. A crooked lot, you are... Wink Grin

Thanks very much. Tongue Wink
If you didn't know already the Angles originated from Denmark/Germany along with those Saxons. That's where the term Anglo-Saxon came from.

While we're on the subject I got to pondering, as I do, on the origin of the Jersey in your New Jersey. The only Jersey I can think of is one of the Channel Islands off the coast of France. Would I be correct in thinking that's the one?

Lots of familiar names to me in the US so I expect a lot of the settlers came from these parts. We passed a little town named Isle of Wight on our last marathon trip. I looked in all directions but I never saw any expanse of water bigger than a puddle in the area. Roll Eyes Tongue Wink

Not sure about the origin of the name, but I'd guess you're right. Definitely English (that would be English, not French, right?), although I believe the Dutch were here first. Well, the first Europeans, anyway...
You've got me wondering now; I'll look into it.

Don't worry old chap. The Channel Islands have been part of the UK for centuries. Not sure how we were allowed to get away with that. Shocked ??? Cheesy

Mind you, Jersey is only a tiny island. I suspect it's far smaller than New Jersey.

Please do. I've always found all this fascinating. Wink

Not sure about the SNJ, but I'm pretty sure  the F4U is the one with a picture of Yosemite Sam on the cowl (coulda sworn I had another picture of it...)... would that be Sky Boss?
