I've been playing with AI traffic lately. I've managed to get some routes between airports going fairly well but I'm having problems with setting up touch and go with my AI.

I set a Mooney to fly from one airport to another and then do touch and go landings at the destination. It does this well enough but never stops. I must have sat there and watched this guy do over 200 touch and go's.

What am I missing here?

SmileyI hered about this before. Check to see how long the flight time was set for. This should be in the flight time you put in for him to fly at that airport. The arrival time then do touch-n-go's up to  depart the traffic pattern. Grin

The flight was supposed to fly from one airport to another and do touch and go's for a while and then return to the original airport.

I have my departure: NFTV 17:30:00

Arrival: NFTF 18:27:29 do touch and go until

Departure NFTF 18:45:29

Arrival back at NFTV 19:42:58

This is set to happen every 24 hrs.

SmileyIf the departure time of the next leg is within 10 minutes of the arrival time of the current leg then he will not land but instead will fly on to the next destination. If the next leg departure time is more than 10 minutes ahead then he will do a normal landing and park until scheduled to depart on the next leg. You must leave at least a minute or so between the arrival and next departure times. If you use the same time for arrival and next departure then problems will occur.

AC#26,N14023,1%,24Hr,VFR,
      20:00:00,TNG21:30:00,050,R,0000,CZBB,
      23:00:00,23:35:00,050,R,0000,CYXX,
Try this or:

AC#26,N14023,100%,24Hr,VFR,
      20:00:00,TNG21:30:00,050,R,0000,CZBB,
      23:00:00,23:35:00,050,R,0000,CYXX,

This sounds like only a time problem being to close to the next departure time. In other words, put a little more time between touch-n-go's and the time to depart to next airport show more than a 15min time. Let him fly touch-n-go's up to about 30 to 45 min and see how it works 8)

I try to keep mine within that time range as well, 30-45 minutes. Otherwise a VFR pattern can clog up other AI from taking off.

I have planes that do strange things, like if a plane tries to land but end up going missed, it will climb thousands of feet into the air (like 50, 60, 70,000 feet) and fly upwind for hundreds of miles.

It's very...interesting.
