Hi:
I have CFS2. I also have an HP computer with standars vdeo card, etc. I'm not going to change the video card. On my computer, the planes in this game have an annoying rainbowlike "shimmer". It is very bothersome and not at all normal in appearance. I believe that the modelling for these planes as it involves displaying reflections off of surfaces is involved. I believe that there is a program that will fix this. Does anyone know where I could get a copy?
I have done a search and didn't find any answers.
Thanks

Iam not familiar with your problem but I subjest for you to start the game and play around with the settings and see witch one will give you the best resolutuin and Textures.
If that does not fix the problem than come back to us and we will try to help you throughout.

James:
I've had this same problem with both computers that I've used CFS2 on. As I recall, the last time I ws able to correct it with some software that someone directed me to. I have recently reloaded the game aftre not playing it for awhile and that's why I've got the problem again.
I might have had some luck before with a new video driver but I think that only the above described solution solved it.
I'll try what you've suggested. I'm amazed that anyone with a standard HP pavillion wouldn't have had this same problem.
The skin of the aircraft are rendered in a splotchy manner with lots of purple and red colors where they don't belong. They are "hideous" to look at that way. All of the standard planes in the game do this and most of the downloaded planes too, including the Blue Arrow Mustang. I'm thinking that the two P-61 Black widows that I've downloaded "Jap Batty" and another black Widow that had an installer don't do this when displayed where you choose the aircraft. I haven't flown them yet so not sure yet 100%.
I've lost the contact info. and the program I used earlier because of reformatting my computer, changing email, etc. awhile ago.
