Hi All-

I am on the management team for Project Phoenix Open Source Flight Simulator. For those of you who may not be aware, Project Phoenix is an open source combat sim that we are currently developing, which will be similar to Falcon 4.0, but free to the public. While the programmers are doing their thing, we are trying to build up our library of 3D models and skins, so that a solid unit list will be ready for campaign design and testing. While our modelers are creating their own models, we thought it would be a good idea, as a time-saving measure, to look for existing high-quality models/skins that are already available to the public.

We were wondering if anyone would be willing to contribute their models to our program. It is a free, open source program like FlightGear. As such, we will make sure to give you credit for creating the model and you will retain all of your license protections on the models- they will only be used for PP and no one may take them from PP without our and your permission. We are using 3D Studio Max to make our models, which will eventually be exported to the OGRE gfx engine, so we would have to somehow get the formats to match. Although our head modeler tells me there is pretty much a converter for everything, and even if we can't do a perfect transfer, he can tweak the model to fix any imperfections from the transfer.

Anyone interested in donating a model (from the period 1970-1985) can mail me at fw.raptorman[-at-]gmail.com or post in this thread at our forums: http://www.phoenixosfs.org/forum/showthread.php?t=9

Kind regards,

Bram

Regardless of the fact that my modeling skills have kept me grounded [literally], I believe they can be put to good use.

I have already developed enough experience with Gmax to model ground vehicles. These vehicles can be used by this sim's AI so that users can either target or defend.

However, that's if this Project Phoenix lets us use Gmax as the source program. 3Ds Max is the same as Gmax, but I don't have 3Ds Max nor the money to get it.
