Disparaging comments about the Clunk will not be accepted.
The real question, with such a handsome plane as the subject, is "Which Mk?"

It is indeed a Mk3! Almost impossible to tell though if it is a 3B or a 3T...depends on how it was restored or not restored for display.
This particular bird was a reconstruction so it probably has Mk4 or Mk5 wings (you can tell they aren't the Mk4b or 5D variants) and the tail is from another airrame as well.
Strange how delicate the old beast looks with the sharp nosecone, a definite constrast to the look of Mk4's and 5's.

What surprised me about the CF-100, is how small in build that crew had to be. I'm 6-ft, and about 270lbs, and I barely fit in that cockpit. I can only imagine the added bulk of a flightsuit, helmet and parachute, and I definitely would not have been CF-100 pilot material!

The Clunk was known as a "roomy" type...but then again crews would have transitioned from the T-33.
After putting in some hours strapping on a T-33 one leg at a time just about anything would have seemed spacious. The rear cockpit was actually a little more comfortable than the front...you have a bit of space to wiggle around and get the kinks out.
