For a person with a small budget, and not looking for super graphics, it's a good card.
I used to have one, but then it crapped out on me.
So now I'm stuck with my rather old, rather poopy Radeon 9000.

It also depends on your current setup.  If you are using integrated graphics then yes it would be an improvement.

Sadly though it is very near the bottom of the pile of last years graphics cards.  I would say 9600pro or higher out of last year cards for ATI or FX5700 or higher for the Nvidia cards.

If you can stretch to a bit more then an Nvidia 6600GT, but thats gonna cost a fair bit more than what you will get that 9250 for!

If I'm not mistaken, and I may be, the 9250 doesn't support directx9. If you're going pci (not express), you may be able to pick up a geforce 5200le 256k really cheap. It does support x9. Runs pretty good for a cheap-o.

I would avoid any card with the letters 'le' or 'se' at the end.
