I've just ordered the Saitek X52 and it will be arriving within the next week ....  Anybody out there got one? I know plenty of you have Saitek products ..... do they live up to their good reputation?

As a side note ...... I will have a M$ Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 available for reasonable offers within the UK.  Wink Wink Grin One owner from new still in perfect condition after 100's of hours use.

cheers

Gee whiz brother, what you paid for that X-52 could have bought you a CH Yoke USB.  Or maybe not.  I know a lot of things cost more in merry ole England than over here in States.  Anyway, the travel between the limits of a yoke and a stick is way different with the yoke giving a much more realistic handling than any stick ever could.  I would definatly put the CH Yoke on the most wanted list.  I told my wife, if mine wears out I don't care what bills need paid or whatever, it gets replaced or repaired.  Not negotiable, lol.  (yeah, right)   8)

I've checked out the prices well ...... yokes  work out far more expensive.
I have also got, after several weeks of research, the best deal within the UK for the X52 taking into account delivery charges and the price of the item. I have even checked out buying from Europe and the US but once again delivery charges outweigh the price saving on the item.

As for getting a Ch yoke, I did consider it, but like eno said - the cost of getting one in England can't really be justified (not this week anyway  Wink ).

Also I thought the X52 looked absolutely amazing.

Cheers.............................

I got my X52 2 weeks ago from pc world for £75, i think that i've installed it wrong, it works fine but, when i've had a flight then exit fs9, my mouse goes stupid ---- the arrow on the screen slides to the bottom, i try to switch the joystick off with the profile editor, but the arrow is moving too fast !!

My X-52 arrived today via a neighbour .... it had been delivered to Her's yesterday whilst I was out.

First impressions are promising......... Now I just have to sort some profiles out and figure how to get a reverse thrust onto the throttle.

The only way I can figure to do it is to program one of the buttons to F2.

thats what i did with my x45. Or you could try calibrating it with the throttle a little before the bottom. that way you pull it back to 0% then can go all the way back for reversers.

That's what I haven't figured yet Craig ....I've played with the null zones but  still can't figure  making the  settings into bands for the throttle  Angry

I've sussed the reverse throttle .... after reading the manual DOH!!
Set up bands for the throttle.
I have 0-10% of the movement set as reverse thrust.
If you read the manual supplied on the disc it's easy ..... It's too complex to put easily in a thread.
