How old is Airbus??? (Read 140 times)

I was just looking at some pictures of the A320 series and was thinking that these aircraft arn't to "young" anymore...yes in relation the DC9(?) they are...does anyone know the current oldest Airbus...but current I mean A320/A330/A340 series..not the A310 etc.

Umm...the A320 program started in 1982, first flight was in 1987 I think.

The FBW widebody projects (330/340) were both launched in 1987 and entered service in 1993.

I believe a large majority of these aircrafts are in service today (they are designed with at least a 30 year life cycle)

Airbus was formed in 1967.  The Airbus A300B1 protoype first flew in 1971, US commercial operations started with Eastern Air Lines in '78 - or thereabouts.
