AlphaBravo,

Can you identify the designer of the B52?  Also, which way is it rocking?

If this is the Kotaro Akikawa model, I think there is an easy solution.

Kotaro Akikawa aka Bonzonie, an old friend of mine & former member of this forum. Hasn't been around for a while. He used to have his own section on the forum named the Wire Frame. I'm sure you would have found the answer to all your questions there but it seems to have disappeared.

Check out the bug list on his site here. http://simviation.com/bonzonie/menubar.htm
I'm not sure when it was last updated.

AlphaBravo,

The rocking motion is caused by an error in the (Fuel) section of the aircraft.cfg file. For some reason, the tip tanks were located 400 ft from the centerline instead of 75 ft. Just make the following changes to the (Fuel) section:

LeftTip:  Change the -400.00 to -75.00
RightTip:  Change the 400.00 to 75.00

After you've fixed the tip tank location, scroll down to the (Contact_points) section. The contact point for the rear main gear is missing. This caused the aircraft to bounce uncontrollably on the ground at some partial fuel loads.

Kotaro gave me permission some time ago to publish this fix in his forum. But, as Hagar pointed out, the Wire Frame Forum has gone away and that message is gone with it.

Add the following lines after Point.6:

// Rear main gear
point.7=1.0,-34.00,0.00,-12.083,3750.08,0.00,3.941, 41.52,0.8614,2.50,0.9166,10.00,10.00,0.00,0.00,0.00

Hope this helps the B-52H fly better for you.

Regards,
JerryH
