AVI must work in windows media player. In fact, avi is defined by Microsoft.

I think you have a bad video file. If it doesn't work in windows media player, it won't work in anything else.

Goto

www.download.com

Download the latest DivX codec, I think this is the latest ones filename  DivX521XP2K.exe

Run and install the codec, you do not need the player though.  See if that works!! Usually does the trick for me.

Forgot to mention, there is a handy little program called gspot (I think at about v2.2 now), it can tell you what codecs any video file needs (both video and audio) Wink
Just search for it with google.

If you installed the latest DivX and it still not playing try Xvid too.

You can find Xvid at www.doom9.org in a package containing many codec’s look for Gordian knot if I'm not mistaken.

DivX www.divx.com
