Since nobody answered this yet I'll have a go. I haven't used FSSC in anger for a while & not much in FS9. This might depend on the texture you're selecting. It's quite possible that FSSC can't read default textures in the later DXT1 format. I can only suggest you try a different texture in one of the older formats, for example: one of textures bundled with FSSC.
