Ok, look, I'll give you a reason to fly the tempest 8)

On a online dogfight, GermanvsBrits I was flying in my tempest at tree top level, and out behind came this Spit(God knows why they had to put these machines against each other Cry

) He fired a burst at me, which clobbered my engine, so I swung left and right to get away from him while flying down a valley Grin

we pulled up, and a got off the power, and let the spit go infront, then as we dived back down into the the valley and I let off a burst of cannon fire into his engine, and boom, fire bursts out from his engine, another burst tears into his wing, and he goes down

Though admittly after that another Spitfire came in, and tore me apart Sad

To be honest, although the fighter type helps a lot, I think it mainly depends on the pilot, you can be dogfighting in the most superior fighter ever built, but if your tactics aint up to par, then you'll be taken down even by a completely obsolete type if its pilot knows his stuff. I try to practice on most of the enemy planes in free flight, just to keep their strengths and weaknesses fresh in my head. But I must admit when it comes to the choice between a Spit and a Tempest, I would have to pick a IX. But if its the four 20mm's you want, I recommend the 1% Spit mkVC, it seems to have bout the same maneouvarability as the stock IXc but with those four cannons (YEAHH Grin
