Well once again the makers of Gran Turismo 4 have delayed its release(now going on 2 years) With no reason given this time, i personally dont think this game actually exsists outside of Japan and never will. I mean its just a way to tease fans annoy them then screw them. All i want is this game, just for the chance to drive round the nurbergring(ati? sp?) Roll on Feb 24th i guess

Hehe. It's like Hidden and Dangerous 2's release. First it was feb 2001, then july, then november, then feb 2002. After that I lost track and saw in around may 2004 that they'd released it! Grin

You know, if they delay Gran Turismo 4 much longer they might as well just save it's release for the PS3.

dont give them ideas:)
they are already planning 5. It will include damage finally. An interesting note, its due for release in Europe before the US, this rarely happens, i am guessing because of the bigger interest in cars in europe?

Nürburgring.

Try Racer. It's free and you have the legendary Nordschleife as an add-on. 8)

You're upset because of a few weeks of delay? Ever heard of 'Duke Nukem Forever'?? This game should be out since 2000...Wink

It's already been delayed for well over a year, I just wish they would quit announcing BS release dates, that's the real problem, at least then we wouldn't feel like they were lying to us every couple of months when they tell us "this time it's really coming out", either release the damn game when you promise or shut the f*** up about it, that's my opinion.

i kinda get the feeling the developers are trying to build up hype about their game by mentioning it every once in a while. not that they need to cos we all know its gonna be good, but i do wish they'd shut up about it until its DEF got a release date.... Angry

if we want to into when the game was announced, well gt3 came out end of 00 gt 4 announced first qtr 01. in the end like mentioned, its not the fact its taken so long, its the fact, the release date has changed so many times. If they knew it was going to take 4 years why say its only going to take 2. the GT series has always been tough to make because of the graphics and the difficulties in getting licenses for the various cars/tracks.

Maybe this will be the year they release it before Christmas, but I have my doubts.
Like I said before, PS3 will be out next year, at this point if they start to re-program GT4 for PS3, they could have it ready by 2010....maybe.  Roll Eyes

They are well on their way to 2006 huh?
We were talking about this at work today and my friend said something about all the people who reserved a copy way back when it was supposed to be released in November, first of all, I never reserve games, there is no sense in it, but if I had reserved a copy last year, I would have certainly have demanded a refund of my money by now.
The guy running the GT4 show really needs to keep his mouth shut, it was several magazines ago that he was talking up a storm about how the finished game was being pressed and ready to ship, well, where is it? That was months ago, first they pulled the online play, what now?

I really think its licensing problems. Its been released in Japan so i dont know any other reason for the US Europe delay. They are damaging their reputation for future releases.

It wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if they would just come clean with an explaination for the constant delays, if there are licensing issues why don't they just say so, they just keep telling us it's ready (every month or so), gives a release date (every month or so), then push it back another month with no explaination.
At this point, if I didn't like the Gran Turismo series so much I wouldn't even buy it when (or should I say if) it ever is released. As a matter of fact, I will probably check out Forza racing when it comes out and if it is good enough maybe I won't buy GT4 until I can find it used for $20.00.

Okay, GT4 is officially supposed to be shipped next Tuesday, the 22nd of February, this time it's really supposed to be real this time really for sure, supposed to be in stores next week, really it is, this time they mean it...really.  Roll Eyes

I'm not even excited at all this time, when I see it on the shelf I will believe it.
I have noticed the last few articles I've read about it never even mentioned all the false release dates or multiple delays, they just talk about how great it is, I'm glad somebody is playing it.

Well the US is now getting it before Europe. That might explain the short delay here then. Roll Eyes I am not getting my hopes up for March 9th.

Well this is it, this is the week GT4 is supposed to be in stores, all of the sales papers have it advertised, the one guy I work with seems to think Gamestop already has it in back, but I don't know about all that.

If it gets delayed again this will at least be the closest we have gotten so far to an actual release.

Okay, it's official, I have GT4!! I've been playing it for about 2 hours now and at this point in the game it doesn't seem much different than GT3, of course I haven't explored too much, got my first license and have ran a few races, that's about it so far.

Thanks Paz. I have always found the GT series to be a slow starter. Once you get the licenses is when everything opens up. Is the nurbergring avaliable now? If so is the the full 8 minute lap + or just a scaled down version?

I was looking around through the courses and nurbergring is there, 12.94 miles.
