Anyone know how to make scenery display seasonal textures? I have tried using the set conditions and the sim displays the winter object in the summer too. Any help will be appreciated.

Well I don't know if there is an easier way, but I got it to work by making 4 versions of the scenery applying appropriate seasonal conditions to each part in each version of the scenery. Then produced each version as a seperate .bgl (summer,winter,...etc)  It worked, but I still would like to know if there is an easier way.

I think that is the only way to do it. I know with GMAX you have to make two seperate textures one for day and one for night. So it makes sense to me you would need one for each season. 8)

I wonder if the seasons could be done as different models? Any thoughts? I will play with the idea at a time when I don't have a 300+ part count to reset conditions on. Here are a coupla pics of the 2 scenerys I am working on.

I do not see any reason why not, but it sure sounds like the hard way to do it. Would'nt you have to draw the figures for each season. Textures sounds like the easy way one model different textures sounds like the simple way to do this. But I do not see why you could not make diferent modeles for each season, But my question is how you could make each model look different without adding a texture to acheive the desired look. And if you are going to add a texture then why the different model. ???

PS cool pics.

Thanks! Must be the resetting condition on all these parts. I need to take a break for a few days I am getting to be stoopud! But it might save a bucket full of seperate .bgls. I plan to post the scenery soon here at Simviation. For FS9 and FS2002.
