I've spent all night trying to repaint an AI aircraft with no success. I've finally managed to get my repaints to stick to the FS9 repaint kits here on SimV so I know I'm getting close.
I'm trying to repaint the CDAI Be1900 AI aircraft that is available
here
. Unfortunately I can't figure out what is going wrong. I think it has something to do with the format the paintkit is in. I'm using Dxtbmp to change the formats back and forth but I'm not sure which one is the appropriate to change to. I can get the paintkit template up and make the changes I want but then when I convert back to "extended bitmap" format for the new textures, I get nothing in FS9.
Can anyone help me out here??

ok first of all what program are you using? if youre using paintshop pro, first try decreasing the color depth to 256 colors. try that then tell me what happens. that is If you already haven't done this. i usualy forget to change to 256 colors and nothing shows up. then i remember and it works.

At a basic level, where are you saving the extended images to? Do you have a working aircraft in your main aircraft folder that you are editing?
By the way, here is a lesser known
tutorial
that I found useful to get me going in repainting.
