I've been saving all my photos to a remote drive to free up some HD space. Here's a few I took at the Shoreham RAFA display back in August 04, the first time I used my new camera in anger. Some might look familiar but these have all been reprocessed from the original images.

After looking through this lot my trigger finger is itching. Roll on the Spring. Wink

the last one is really cool! I thought it was this Mustang which damaged it's gear after the Air Tattoo in july 04...but now I see it flying here...it was probably Big Beautiful Doll.  Wink

Thanks Bones. That last shot is one of my favourites. It prints out nicely. Wink

BBD was also at Shoreham in August. I think there are several in that scheme so it might not have been the same one. I'm sure Charlie will enlighten us if he sees this.

Robs Lamplough's "Miss Helen" on his short trip home to his strip near Swindon...

This is the beast at its other home, North Weald. I'm sure its back flying already as damage was minimal...

...

Nice shots Doug.

Had the pleasure of being parking my car next to the Harvard at work today. Nice way to start back...

at ATCbox.com there you can find a nice high quality video of this spit in formation with some F-16's taken during a "missing man" formation flight a few weeks ago. on ATCbox.com you can find dozens of very good videos, but you have to register to have acces to them.  Wink

Could someone enlighten me about this neat looking aircraft? And could someone build one of those for FS? Grin

It's a Hunting Percival Pembroke. Military version of the Prince. This one was used for transporting the top brass.

You'd be best asking at Classic British Flight Sim...

http://classic-sky.co.uk/cbfsimV3/index.php

If he wasn't so busy this is a great one Rick Piper of Meteor and JP etc. fame could do...

I'm sure there was one for an earlier version of FS...

There's a Pembroke for FS2000 here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2000props34.htm
it would probably be OK in FS2002 & CFS2 but not FS9.

What a strange name, but that seems to be typically british. Ugly names for nice looking aircraft et vice versa. Grin

Charlie, I might sign up there and ask for one. But I think there won't be anyone out there who wants to model a VC version. Wink

Hunting Percival is the name of the company. Originally Percival Aircraft Ltd. founded by an Australian named Edgar Percival. http://www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%20performance/Percival/gallery.htm

Pembroke is the name of a town in Wales. Many British military types are named after towns. Most Percival aircraft names started with the letter P. So there you have it. Quite logical really. Cheesy Smiley

Lancaster, Lincoln, Manchester, Stranraer, Southampton, Warwick, Windsor, Henley to name but a few...

Could've been worse...

How about the MB Melton-Mobray or Milton Keynes, or the Bristol Bath (how confusing) Sad

Could've even had the Percival Pratts-Bottom - a place that wasn't too far away from one of Percival's pre-war haunts at Gravesend. Grin Wink

Milton Keynes is one of them New Towns. Built on land around Bletchley Park. It was only a tiny village when MB was manufacturing aircraft.

It would be interesting to make a list of all British aircraft named after towns. I'm sure there's quite a few silly ones. Wink

Yes, but it is painted as a Mk21 and I'd rather someone do a 21 for FS than an un-authentic re-paint Wink Paul Rebuffat has a MkXIV in this sceme on his web site.

I miss your superb airshow shots Hagar old pal and I can't wait to see what you come up with for the coming season.

Good poit Charlie old chap. And besides all that, I still think RN201 is the finest flying Spitfire I have ever seen, just awesome.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad I posted these now. Wink

Charlie does have a good point. I usually prefer authentic markings but those 2 immaculate red & silver Spits are probably my own favourites on the display circuit. It makes a nice change see something a little different without spoiling those classic lines. Wink
