These tests scores are for 3dmark2001SE. The system:
AMD64 3200+ 754 ClawHammer Core
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard
512mbs PC-2100 DDR Ram
160 Gig WD EIDE hard disk
and the [drumrole]BFG 6800 Ultra[/drumrole]

Score with stock system no overclocking 15405 3dMarks

Score with CPU overclocked 200 Mhx equaling 2.2 Ghz no other overclocks 16850 3dmarks

Score with CPU overclocked to 2.2 ghz and RAM timming set to DDR 333 no other overclocks was 19850 3dMarks

I was half expecting to see a drop in performance due to my n00b overclocking skills, but we see some good increase. My RAM is holding me back from good scores on this rig(I hope or this systems a gonner) but I thought this was a good example of what 200 Mhz and an increase in RAM timeings can do for your system if you need those extra 3000 marks!

The video card was at stock clocks the whole way through...

I am way to scared to be pulling my 6800ultra apart! imagine you slipped EEEEEK.  The card is way more powerful than either of our CPU's can keep up with anyway!  save your money for a better CPU to complement the ultra  8)

I'm not. I intend to see just how powerful two 6800 ultras can be. But your right, the cards are often waiting for the CPU to catch up. Even fx-55 falls behind sometimes accoridng to tom's hardware guide.
