Hi there! Good to hear that you're entering the passionate art of flying! You can find a great deal of informative replies if you use the search function, because alot of pilots ask this question. You'll find the search button on the top of this page.
Hope to be of some help,

If memory serves me correct the autoland feature in FS200 only worked for a few planes I am not sure if you can make it work for a add on aircraft.
As far as how to use the ILS check out the lessons., They can teach you more than a few words. Just start with the basics and work your way up, I think you will better understand doing it this way. 8)

What they said. There is no "quick fix" to learning ILS landings. You just have to slog through the learning curve like the rest of us did, following the lessons.

Since when did any default fs aircraft have autoland? They all have ILS but I have never heard of one of them having autoland.

FS98 had an autoland feature but you had to be on final for an ILS landing and it only worked with GA.
I saw an autoland gauge once. Check the library here or at AVsim. I would expect that you still have to be on final for ILS for it to work so it's not going to be very useful unless you already know how to get on final.

Yup, it's called Autoland 2002. It's really not worth it. It just flares for you. IMO, the flare is the best part of an ILS landing.

Agreed. I like flaring
I'm very old fashioned-still don't trust TO/GA mode.

HI Lincswlo ,
One idea that might help you learn more about an ILS approach ( not auto-land ) is to program in an IFR flight such as from DFW airport to Ft. Worth , Texas Meacham Field . Set your autopilot to 3,500 ft. and let ATC lead you to the ILS ( 109.9 Rnwy. 34 rt. ) . You can watch on your GPS and can see how you angle into the ILS which consists of Glide Path ( refers to a straight line to the runway ) and the Glide slope ( vertical path ) . I flew as a private pilot only ( no instrument rating ) and have learned nearly all I know about instrument flying from the simulator .
You can just fly the autopilot all of the way to within one mile of the runway or so and you will learn quite a bit I think . Be sure to set your ' course ' in the AP to 340 degrees and ' heading ' to the runway heading you are departing from .

ILS is a radio navaid, hence you should switch to "NAV"
Regarding the other questions; search the forum. I don't want to sound grumpy, but there are many great threads about ILS/autopilot usage burried here in the forums
