Okay, I don't know if its a by-product of the riva tuner or what but lately fs9 flickers while changing screens.  It happens when changing aircraft, it happens if I pull down options or change the settings.  On occasion, it will CTD.  When it CTD is when i'm dragging or resizing a windowed panel usually.  The great results I go initially from FSAutostart are diminishing also.  I started FS9 last night normally, which normal for me means I shut down norton, screen saver, firewall, and whatever I know I can in task manager and decent average results.  I was only testing a panel change on a plane. Then, I decided to do a flight so I re-started it under FSAuto start and I checked frames and they were driffting between 0-8 fps.  Worse than without it.  I am thinking maybe something background was trying to shut own when that happened and hogging the system.  Or, maybe it shut down my vid card driver or something.  So, if anyone wants to bravve answers to these new maildys i'm all ears, or eyes i should say, lol.

Have you used Riva Tuner to overclock your grapchics card at all?

I have an Nvidia card but do not use Riva Tuner.  I use the 'Coolbits' Registry tweek which adds overclcoking functionality to my standard graphics settings.

Yes, indeed I have used Riva to overclock the card.  But, even after I restored it to factory settings the intermitant flickering remained.  And, I think its something FS9 doesnt agree with because I have no troubles with anything else. FS2002 is normal and much faster than it was, and my train sims are markedly improved.  But, Fs9 flickers and occasionally CTD.  The CRD happens usually if I resize or drag a pop-up panel window.  That's why in another post I suggested that maybe its time I clean up FS9 and just do a complete re-install and see if it runs better registered under the current system config I have. For all I know there is a sub routine or something from some add-on that is causing these hick-ups. If I start clean and find no problems with default FS9 content and settings then I'll know the problem is some third party code or maybe a registery conflict between the vid drivers I have now and FS9.
