Ok.. I'm in the beginning phases of what I hope will be a very fruitful endeavor of recreating the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in GMAX to get rid of the existing default Microsoft version.

I'm having a little trouble, though. Especially with creating the bridge tower pedestals and towers themselves.

The tower pedestals are shaped like a stop sign per se' (shown below in the diagram), but when I try to create that shape, GMAX won't let me. For some reason, it won't allow me to bevel the vertical corners of the box I start with.

...

Any suggestions?

I am no expert at GMAX for sure but have you tried to select as edit poly and then use pixels then select the corner pixels and drag to wher you want them. I do not see any reason it should not let you do this.
There is a tutorial for making a 3d house that shows the technique I am talking about they use something like that to make the roof and the edges of the house with.
But I could be way off here like I said I am defintely not a expert at this.
See if you can find FSEDGE he is the master as far as I am concerned. 8)

Ok... I've figured out that part, but now I have another question.

I have the pedestal base done, and the first tower leg pedestal done. My second question is how do I copy-n-paste or mirror it in GMAX? I'll need this information also for when I start work on the tower legs and the tower X-braces - in addition to the main suspender cables and bridge deck trusswork..

Hmmm...I can answer this and I don't know anything about GMAX...

Switch to move mode, hold down shift, drag your item to the location you want the new one to appear.
