I have a joystick and pedals. But if I had more money I would get a yoke.

Being a real pilot, a yoke is the way to go. I just purchased the CH Products Flight Sim yoke and it's more realistic than flying with a joystick. I flew with a joystick for the past three years and as soon as I got my yoke it was a whole different world. I am waiting for my pedals to come in to see how they do. With the realism settings set to hard, throw in a nasty crosswind and the yoke effects are great. If you have never flown a real airplane, it can be hard to appreciate what it's like flying with a yoke. My joystick is only used to fly my fighter jets now. CP

Thanks for that link I might get me one of those if I can convince my mom to let me use her card . I am about to get me a new PC so I will have to wait for awile thanks .

If I could afford it, I'd have two "simpits"... one with joystick, throttle, and pedals for the fighters and vintage birds, and one with yoke, etc. for the modern GA aircraft and (most) airliners. My compromise is the X45, but it was a bit odd at first switching hands (I have 100+ hrs. in Cessnas, where it's yoke in the left hand, throttle, etc. on the right). And yeah, there's a whole different feel between stick and yoke.

auto-pilot. I don't know where you are located at but if you don't like buying things on-line I can recommend for CH Products "Electronics Boutique" located in most major malls across the US. A simple search of their website can show what products are at what locations although for some it may mean hours of driving. Also, Best Buy and Circuit City have a good selection of joy sticks. The X-45 is a good selection because you get loads of buttons and switches and a separate throttle control lever. I tried it with my right hand and it isn't all two bad to operate right handed if yer carefull and the rotary switches can be used to control prop rpm and mixture. Also, there is a mouse fire button and little mouse stick on the throttle which means if you set it up that way you will rarely need to move your hand off the control to operate controls on the panel, just use the mouse controlers on the throttle. Plus, the X-45 stick handles nearly like a 1 handled flight yoke. Its a decent compromise between a stick and a yoke due to it's design. The fact that it doesn't twist helps toward that. Twisty sticks were the most un-realistic comprimise ever created but cost effective for kids with limited spending. Of course, if you are in a nation other than the US none of what I just said matters much unless the aforementioned retailers also have franchises wherever you live.

I now have the CH Yoke and Pedals and I'm very happy with them. You can get them together for under $200 with shipping on www.amazon.com and I think thats a good deal. If you are thinking about getting just the yoke or just the pedals I would get the pedals. I think they are built really well.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely be looking into a joystick. I will try some of your suggestions. From what I can tell, they seem to be worth having/
