Hi,

I'm having a lot of trouble lately browsing the SimV website, particularly getting the home page (I think, you know that main blue and yellow and white one  with the latest files listed......)

I get activeX warnings and then the page won't load, sometimes after several attempts and trying different things I can get the page to open.

Every page on simv I try to open, my popup blocker goes nuts.... and I haven't knowingly changed any settings. I tried some temporary settings changes to try to fix things then set them back after a no-go.

I have problems browsing the download files pages as well, sometimes they open and sometimes not...

The latest problem in the last  24 hours has been that I can't view the uploaded images (screenshot forum etc.) until I go to the image properties and get the link then load it into my address bar, then the image appears and when I go back to the forum, the other images then load.

I'm pretty internet dumb, so if you have any ideas please let me know.

Thanks

Has there been any re-structuring of the website or is it time for me to format again?  Roll Eyes

Congo - no recent changes & the fact that your pop-up alerts throughout the pages demonstrates that the problem does not come from this site ... We only carry one small pop-under on the main page & that is limited to one per session so even if you go back you won't get it again.

Also Activex is a microsoft thing & we don't use anything m$ on this site or server - zero. Our servers are Unix based.

Me thinks you may have a virus or major corruption. What anti virus do you run & is it updated at least every few days?

Sorry to hear your troubles.

Thx for the reply Pete, I'm running Anti-Vir XP and I'm going for an update right now.

Zonealarm Pro is my  firewall and I run  4 major bot killers, It's one of the bot killers that's blocking fastclick, gator and a couple of other baddies while I'm browsing here.

I have SP2 XP and it's IExplorer has that fancy white strip at the top of the IE window that warns about popups, active X etc (popup blocker I guess). Well, it's going off as well........sheeeesh.  Tongue
