Well, even since the early days of rock 'n roll most Brit singers have put on an awful "mid-atlantic" accent to appeal to you chaps on t'other side of the Pond. Elton John is one of the worst examples & he gets worse as he gets older. Among the few exceptions were the Beatles, the Who & the Kinks.

agreed, but just the fact she looks like my cousin is enough to seriously put me off, not that she isnt pretty, but thats just creepy. Plus i think people who want to date a famous person based on what they see of the person on TV is really stupid, 9 times out of 10 that isnt what they are really like

Of course. This is the entertainment industry. They think it sounds more authentic with a Yank accent. They don't really talk like that either -well, some of them do to try & impress. Roll Eyes

What I find strange is when lyrics from American music is translated into Chinese. You can recognise the rythim of the songs, but the lyrics are totaly off.

Just been reading through that thread. How it's possible for anyone not to detect John Lennon's, Paul McCartney's & Roger Daltrey's strong regional accents from their singing beats me. ??? But then, Americans were never very good at Brit accents, even when spoken. I'm often mistaken for an Aussie while on holiday in the US. Roll Eyes

I should say that 5'10" is just above average for a woman. Most I know are just a shade under that being mayby around the 5'8" mark. I too prefer taller girls. I don't like the thought of having to bend down too far.

It's worth pointing out that Stella will get you the desired goods in most parts of the country. Except in Essex, were you might be set upon by a girl wearing six inch heels and a fake fur coat...

You mean "Wots tha deal wiv Essex girls?"

Well the common conception of an Essex Girl .. is a blonde bimbette wearing 6inch white stilletto heals and carrying a white leatherette handbag, which has to be danced round. They hunt in groups of 3 or 4 and travel in a white Ford Escort XR3i  convertible. Put all four of them together and you might just rustle up enough brain cells to make a houseplant.

In practice .... I've met several rather nice Essex girls  Wink Wink Wink

A few years ago some researchers said that the rightful title ought to go across the Thames estuary to Chatham in Kent, but "Chatham Girl's" don't quite 'ave the same ring...

Is there an age limit on Smurfs? I was thinking along the lines of Grumpy Smurf, Miserable Ol' Git Smurf or even Has-been Smurf.

There is no age limit. According to Smurf history, Papa Smurf is 543 years old. So you wont be the oldest.

My knowledge of Smurfs is a bit limited, but isn't there a black smurf that's kept in a cage?

And I accept the position of Drunk hairy cornish Smurf. Grin
