Here are some pics I took two summers ago while just spending the day down at Boeing Field in Seattle. As cool as fighters are, I'd have to say, taking pics of these heavies is just about as fun! lol Certainly tricky at times. (trying to fit the entire airplane in one pic that is.)
Here is a pic of a newly assembled 737 unpainted. A lot of times when they come in, only the rudder and/or radome will be painted. Sometimes I've seen 'em with the vertical stab painted, but nothing else. They look kinda funny that way I think. lol Also, when they do land, normal practice is for them to stop on the runway, then rev up the engines start moving down the runway then apply full breaks. It's fun to see the huge cloud of smoke as it comes to a stop again.
Nice and close to the fence.
Same one, later in the day departing.
Here is the big guy... one of Boings two 777-300-ER's based here in Seattle. Got her right at touchdown. Beautiful airplane. Nice smoke cloud too.
Busy gal that day... here she is actually earlier in the morning from a different location. Oohhh... what a beast!
This is our vantige point for all but the above pics. The parkinglot south of the Tower. Beautiful Mt. Rainier in the backround with, again, the 777 coming in to land.
And another touchdown pic. Those 12 tires sure put out a huge ammount of smoke! Another amazing thing to watch are those huge wings. On takeoff it looks like they're gonna snap!
Taxiing past to depart again. Did I say this jet is HUGE!? There she goes with those 115,000lb thrust engines! Oohh yea!
Thats as far out as the camera goes. lol Look at that sexy beast! That wingtip is a good 15 feet beyond the fence line also... my sister was standing up against the fence, but pic wouldn't take till it was past her. She's just to the left of the pic.
Taxiing to depart runway 16L.
Hope you enjoyed them!
