I'd like to know the best car you've ever driven yourself... and to make it fun, also the worst...

In my category: "The privilege was mine":

The C70 2.4 T - cabrio.... sweeet on a hot summer day...

...

And the BMW 5 3.0 i - a beast, but dressed as a gentleman...

...

In my category: "Next time? There will never ever be a next time....":

The lada i-dunno-what's-it's-name... Big piece of junk...

...

So, dazzle me... What did you drive up until now?

This one is though because the nicest car I have ever "drove" as in down the road actually drove is my 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 350.  I did though once get to move a beautiful hot-rodded 1970 Dodge Charger 440 (with a built 440 of about 500hp) which is owned by my friend's father.  It wasn't much a moveing-we were getting ready to clean it for a show and I was helping.  I got to back it out of the shop and move it so we could clean it.  But, other than that the nicest car I have driven is my '69 Camaro.

As for the worst car, I'd have to say my old 1974 Chevrolet El Camino tops the list.  It was given to me by my uncle as a parts car for my Camaro project.  It had a running engine, a complete a/c unit and a ton on body bolts and other things I could use.  So, once I got it running I decided to drive it around the block just to say that I did (before I tore it to pieces).  To put this into perspective, this car was originally that ugly suage green that chevy used in the 1970s.  But, it had some body damage and someone did a really cheap repair and painted over it in a tan house paint.  Later, a tree had fallen on the hood during a big storm and but a huge dent into it.  So, as you can imagine this thing was just foul looking.  Also, the floorboards were all rusted out and it had at one time had a rat living in it so the interior was torn to pieces.  To top it all off, the water pump was junk so as I drove this thing around the block it was constantly leaking water out from the front of the engine.  But, I did it and now I can say I did-and it was fun.

Just for the record, that car has later torn apart for parts by me and the rest was hauled off for scrap (probably to be curshed into a cube  8)).

Best, e39 BMW M5 all 400BHP of it!  Grin

Worst, my 318i when a spring broke mid bend @ 80MPH!

But, not forgetting my old XR3i that turned out to be two stolen ones crudely welded together, no wonder it "crabbed" down the road!  Shocked

In my case, I nominate Scania as the best truck I've driven, IVECO wins the prize for the worst!

Hmm best on the road was a Ferrari 328GTS, on the track a single seat Formula Ford race car, and rallying a Triumph TR8.
Worst, well it has to be the Trabant 501, but I still love them! Or my wifes Polski Fiat, which was an upholstered rollerskate which seemed to have similar acceleration and braking techniques as Fred Flintstones car!

Worst: my grandmother's 85 chevrolet celebrity...rusted all over the place adn the idle speed is turned up so bad it's justmessed up...take your foot off the brake and in a second or two you are doing 30MPH without touching the gas...

Best: I would have to say My grandfather's lovingly restored 1937 Ford... Wink flat-head v-8 about 60H.P. 3 speed on the floor with a top speed of around 30 miles an hour within reason...not a spot of rust anywhere, mint condition original brownish red color that was standard for it.. to drive it now brings back memories of being a kid and having him take us for rides in his cars.. Smiley

Close second to best: grandpa's 48 willy's jeepster convertible 3-speed on the column, 4 cyl. flathead...with the easiest clutch pedal.. Wink

Worst, vauxhall corsa it had a very light clutch and having switched to that from a ford fiesta which was rather heavy, i just couldnt stop stalling it, plus there was little room in it

It takes great skill to stall a car... so how do you recover from them?

Just kidding...

it was my little brother's driving school car. . .i gave it a little test drive. . .you will not believe how abused and undermaintained those cars are. the taurus is bad enough, but to have an abused one is just plain cruel

Bah, I'll kickstart this thread back up because I'm bored and have nothing else to do - Normally, I don't respond to threads when I'm scanning through them...

Best - Porsche 911

Worst - Honda Civic with no suspension to speak of - It was riding litterally on the axles. Try that on a bumpy road, gah.
