Hey

Anyone interested in repainting the Embreaer 170 in that cool 7E7 livery?

Find it here: http://www.simviation.com/fs2004jets19.htm, It's in Atlantic aviation colours.

Cheers

If no-one else fanices a try then get back to me, I'm a little busy on other repaints and real life work just now, but I might be able to give it a try.

Yea i have one question if thats alrite. Smiley

Could you tell me how FS9 reads the texture files, because they are all just flat images and it seems that they are placed on the bitmap in random positions? At the moment i can't repaint because i don't know how it works.

cheers again

To be honest, with regards to the default FS aircraft, I havn't a clue, its just one of those things that just works, somehow. You've just got to look for the obvious bits, like which are the wings etc.. its easiest to compare a default one with destictive markings, and have FS open allongside the bitmap, so you can look and work out which bits go where. Most add-on aircraft have a more logical approach to where the textures are stored.

Hey
I have Paint Shop Pro right. And i was screwing around a bit and i couldn't figure out how to put an image behind an image while stilll seing both images. I tried "arrang" and sent it to back but i never saw the image afterwards.

Other than that Paint SHop Pro is much better than photoshop. i almost did a good repaint, lol

cheers

Are you trying to achieve a transparrent effect?
Do you know about PSP's layers?

if you want one bit of image to appear bove or below another, put them on separate layers and then move the layer. layers in psp also have transparency control.

If the layers pallate is not already visable, go View menu, Palattes, and click Layers.  or hit F8

Hey
Yea i know about the layers, it's just getting them to both show on top or below eachother is a problem.

Do you know any good repainting tutorials btw?, there aren't many on simviation.

cheers

You've just gota move the layers about, and tweak the transparencies until you get the effect you want.

A swift web search will bring up many tutorials, or you can try this one for starts .

http://www.gjsmith.com/Tutorial/Tutorial.htm its fs2002 oriented, but should be ok for FS2004

Yes I do use PSP, just using vectors to make the shapes, and then blurring on the light blue (after converting to non-vector).  Smiley
