Yet another question here ??? ,
My FSDS project has a 3-piece door configuration for the nose gear doors. The forward door covers a retraction strut which is placed ahead of the nosegear leg, and is angled downward and rearward at approximately 45 degrees, to connect with the gear leg about halfway down. When flying the aircraft, and retracting the gear, this door seems to retract at a "flatter" angle (for want of a better description) than the rest of the gear, with the result that the retraction strut can be seen to protrude through the exterior of the door while in mid-retraction. When fully retracted and fully extended, the door remains in the proper place. I have tried repositioning the retracting strut, changing it's part axis, and stowing it far into the gear well when retracted, in order to prevent this problem from recurring, and nothing works. Figure now that the best way to resolve this would be to adjust the timing of the door's retraction in order that it closes slightly slower, but do not know how to manipulate gear door speeds in the aircraft.cfg file. If anyone has ideas on this please let me know.
Thanks - Brian

Not sure the retarction speed will help. It only seems to control the overall timing of the animation. Sounds like you need to separate the door animation from the gear.
I had similar problems with the tail wheel doors on a MkVIII spitfire. Set some keyframe points such that the cover lags the retraction of the gear and add an additional key at 101 with a very small movement! May help.

Thanks once again for the advice,
I managed to get it working through some further experimentation by making the gear strut a parent part to the door itself. The only thing is, because the door was designed using 3 sets of polygons, the alignment gets messed up completely and the parts have to be manually re-adjusted, tedious but the end result is what I was looking for. Next time I'll exhaust all avenues before asking again
- however, asking questions might help out others who run into similar problems down the road, never know eh.

After reading the firstreply, I would suggest t make the door a child of the corresponding strut - (assuming, of course, the the door doesn't have movement independent of the strut.) Your key part is the landing gear, not the door.
