I'v found that by copying the gauge line (Like:      gauge08=Cessna172!Clock,  21,330,92,88  in the panel cfg file will put it in the panel of your choice. Some gauges have windows listed at or near the begining of the Cfg. file. you may have to add the window also. You'll have to change the gauge # to the next available line #. For example if the last gauge number is 44 then make it #45. The first 2 sets of numbers ie: 21,330 is the location and the second set, 92,88 will be the size. you'll have to experiment a little to see which way the gauge moves but you'll soon get the idea. Hears how I do it: 1) Start up the flight sim and make sure the plane your adding it to is NOT selected. 2) Minimize the flight sim so your back to desktop. 3) search for the aircraft, then panel, and open the panel Cfg. file.  4) Insert the gauge line and save. 5) reopen the Cfg. file and go down to the new line you just put in. 6) leave everything open and unminimize your flight sim. 7) select the aircraft and push fly now.  It most likely won't be where you want it and it may be hidden by another gauge but keep on trying and you'll get it! Remember to back up the original Cfg. file first. Also change only one set of numbers at a time untill you get good at it or you may get confused. I know I do some times. You will have to repeat steps 4-7 many times and it may also take about a half hour or so per gauge to get it just the right size and position you want. There may be a better way to do it but I don't know of one yet.  Good luck, Wildie

Oh yes I forgot to say that some gauges for some reason don't have the last 2 sets of numbers, (The size) and also that the first number of the gauge line is left to right and the second is up and down. As for the missing size numbers, if there are none just add them like others in your file. PS. I assume your useing 2004 and have and use Notepad to open the Cfg. file. If I missed anything let me know. I started out just moving and sizing gauges to get the feel of it all. Roll Eyes

???

If you just use CFGEdit.exe you can place your gauges visually without all this trial and error. As it's freeware it hasn't been developed to handle cab files (it's big payware brother can) but everyone uses it for panel design and mods including me without any major problems.

I thought I tryed that before. Reason for not useing it; CfgEdit does not support FS2002, FS2004 or Gauge editing. I think I spent way too much time trying to get it to work for me. Perhaps I'l go ahead and pay for the right one in the future. As for now I know my method, as cubersom as it may be does work!
