Biggest flightsim site on the net which many of you know and as far as I know the last remaining entirely one size fits all FREE file library.  Decent download speeds.  So, my question is this. Why do people even bother with flightsim.com or any file library where one must pay to get the best connection??????

Gary,

My $ 0.02 worth on this idea.........

The cost of such memberships helps to defray the very real costs of having major sites that we can visit.  Yes, some money is generated thru advertising revenues on most sites... but major sites are not inexpensive nor easy to maintain.

The costs for such fees are actually pretty minimal in the "big picture".  These days (at least here in the USA) is is VERY east to turn a $20 bill into only pennies of pocket change on the smallest of purchases.  So the typical fees one sees are not all exhorbitant or out of line.

And when compared to the cost of a computer and joystick... and pedals... and speakers..... and ..... and..... and........ so on..... to RUN the sims well........... they are really a small fraction of the costs to enjoy this hobby.

I look at my premier membership here at SimV as a way to "give back to the community" for the enjoynemt and learning that SimV has provided for me.

best,

.......................john

Nicely put, John. Smiley I'm happy with my membership at FlyAwaySimulations.com and as you said, I look at it as a way to give back to the community.
