I've been working on reopening a closed airport, XBEL (Bellows AFB, HI) using AFCAD2, SceneGenX, TTools and AITM and have been successful in every respect except one-

Runways are open, ample parking created
no AFCAD faults (all nodes are linked, parking taxiways are fine)
Tower, ground, ATIS. progressive taxi, navaids function
Scenery objects (bldgs, etc) look great
AI traffic lands at XBEL and taxis to parking magnificently

Here's the hair puller:

AI traffic which landed fine and parked at XBEL, which is then headed to an empty airport (I confirmed this) disappears at the appointed departure time.

I have read nearly every post on multiple forums and have tried everything.  So my questions stands:

Is FS2004 set up to disallow AI takeoffs from a default closed airport or have I missed something?  I know that someone reopened Kai Tak in Hong Kong which was closed also, wonder why mine won't work...

I'd be glad to email my files to anyone willing to help.

Many Mahalos!

Hiya

What do you mean by an empty airport?

BTW - the answer to your original question is 'No' - once you have set them up properly in TTools.

Thanks for your answer.

What I meant by empty destination airport is that there are no AI planes parked there and there are enough empty parking spaces of the appropriate gate size.

Elsewhere in a forum, I read that someone had to try AI aircraft on a trial and error basis to find one that didn't disappear, I'll try that.

Curious though, even the default aircraft disappear at the gate.  Most people have aircraft disappear on the taxiway.

Still puzzled...

Curious though, even the default aircraft (737-400, Learjet, etc) disappears at the gate, not just addons.  Most people have aircraft disappear on the taxiway, because the parking spaces at the destination airport are full.  My AI aircraft departs from PMDY (Midway Island), lands at XBEL, parks, then vanishes at the gate at XBEL at departure time when there are no aircraft sitting or destined to PMDY (I set that up in TTools.

Still puzzled...
