I am busy on this God forsaken house of mine. Many of you know I added the 2nd story last year and finished it right before Heather was born in May. Well I was going to take off and "enjoy" myself with the family but somehow I got sucked in to re-doing the kitchen!
We vaulted the kitchen ceiling, installed the sky lite, built the center island and many other things. The Sheetrock is done and the painters are coming tomorrow! The island will be covered in granite and the long counter top under the cabinets is also being changed!. We ordered a new 36inch stainless steel refrigerator. The one in the pics is 28 so as you can see, I still need to remove an entire section of cabinetry! Still have to do ALL the finish work but to me, that is the fun part. We eventually want to bring the hardwood floors into the kitchen but I am running out of money fast!  Tongue

Here is a shot looking into the kitchen from the entrance. Those stairs were the last thing I built & stained right before Heather was born. The kitchen is in the foreground.
...

Looking up through the new sky lite & a shot from where a wall once separated two rooms.
...                          ...

Here is looking the other way. That is a new opening into what will be the new Media Room. As you can see I am just finishing framing on the island. I installed the new washing machine, still has the blue seal on it, and the cabinet doors still need to go on. Since the Granite people are coming to measure Wednesday, I temporarily cut a plywood template and installed the sink so we can use it. The new sink is an "under the counter top". It is the latest thing. The wall with the recess on it is where the 26" flat LCD Screen is going.
...

So, I still need to rearrange the cabinets to fit the new 36inch fridge, I need to finish all the trim on the island, the painters are coming tomorrow, the granite pieces will be installed in 3 weeks, need to finish all the trim, (moldings, windows floor), and the list is almost done! Hope to have it all done by Christmas!
...

Thanks for watching!!

Dave
