In FS 2002, it drives me crazy when my aircraft taxis behind another aircraft and after that aircraft finally takes off, I sit there waiting for ATC to clear my aircraft with no indication as to when I get the clearance to enter the runway.

So, being impatient, I just roll over to the runway and take off, only to be yelled at by ATC that I was not cleared for takeoff.

When I say delay, I am talking at least 5 minutes with no other aircraft on approach.

Does anybody have a solution or have you experienced the same issue?

Ashar,
Traffic tools is a program that lets you add AI traffic to your FS..

The ATC in FS2002 accounts for the vortex effect of large jet A/C taking off and you should expect at least 1 munute for clearance after say a 747, but 5 mins is excessive, don't ask me how to or if you can even change the setting. Mine works fine, maybe your sound driver needs updating. Do you experience stuttering at all? Does it help if you turn down the settings for the video (shadows or AI)?
