Want to visit a flight school... (Read 618 times)

Hello all,

I've been flying FS for a while now and I have to say FS9 really has me 'interested' in getting my pilot's license.  I don't intend on making a career out of flying (already have a career), but I can truly say I've got the bug and wouldn't mind visiting a flight school for PPL.

In my area (Maryland) I've seen several small "Learn To Fly" signs up.  I was wondering if it'd be worth visiting one of these schools or if there is a good suggestion as to where I should go as a person who's never stepped foot in the cockpit of a plane.  Except a sim plane of course.

Hi,

I'm from Delaware and fly into and out of MD all the time. What part are you from? I'm sure I can recommend a good school for you, maybe even an instructor.

I live in central MD, between Baltimore and DC, although I'm looking to move closer to the PA line in Carroll County.  Actually, I'm not very far from BWI.

Look into Capital Air out of Tipton/Ft. Meade airport. How far from Martin State Airport are you? I could easily set you up with an instructor there.

Thanks for the advice.  I'm only 10 mins from Ft. Meade/Tipton.  Martin State is more like 45 mins from me, on the other side of Baltimore.

Jr,

What's your question about Sussex County? That's where I live/fly out of.

Gn85,

Drive over there some time and tell them you want to learn to fly. Or look them up in the phone book. I have a friends who instructs there part time who I'd be more then happy to set you up with.
