Sorry guys .......... it seems that something is amiss.. Im managing to connect to other servers but peeps dont seem to be able to connect to mine properly
The server was online for about an hour in that time I got one bite from a guy I've been flying with over the last week. He actually managed to connect ok, but then something went horribly wrong and the server dissconnected. He'd found the server on FSHostSpy and didn't even know I was going to be testing it.
Those who have tried using FS2002 haven't even managed to connect .... I don't know what the issue is there, possibly I need to open the ports for FS2002 in my firewall.
If anyone it willing to give it another try over the next few days then I'll put it online from 19:00 GMT =14:00 EST for the next 3 nights

sorry if you tried and failed on Sunday ..... If youre willing to give it a bit more time I'm sure we can get it together and make it a regular feature.
cheers

Had a successful test tonight with two FS2002 players joining me for a flight round the Mt Saint Helens area.
I think some of the problems of the last few days have been caused by the FSHost servers being hosted by VATSIM.

Hi eno...!
I have a funny idea that our IP addresses change each time we connect to the Internet......remember IP Chicken..?
When Ozzy and I used to fly together we used to have to PM our current IP addresses and names to each other before each flight so that we would be able locate each other....
...!
If we lost a connection we would have to PM each other again to insert our "new" addresses after we re-connected.
What do you reckon...?
Cheers Mate...

I'm connected via a router so unless its turned off or reset then the IP remains the same ......... so power cuts or other acts of God not withstanding there shouldn't be any change. If there is then I'd let you all know.

Speaking of routers and ip addresses of routers...
HOW DO I find out what my router ip address is?
I'm running the Dlink 604 wired router, and I can obtain an ip address using the IPCONFIG command or by doing a quick search online via a web-site designed to tell me what my ip address is...
The ip address I obtain via ipconfig would be the ip of my system, correct?
and the address obtained via the internet search would give me the ip address of my router right?
Then if I were to host a flight sim game via my computer the ip address that I would give out to get people to join the flight would be the ip that I obtained via the internet right?
I tried to do this the other night when I went flying with Ender, but for whatever reason it didn't want to work and I'm not quite sure why. Is there something else that I need to do as well??
Any information would be extremely helpful,
thanks in advance...
Jared
