There are many vid cards on the market of many different configurations with give and take across a wide variety of performance specifications.  What I wonder is at a glance what is the defining comparison specification from one card to the next?  Is it the ramdac speed, core clock, memory data rate?  What specification can be used as a defining indication of a card's performance?

there are too many factors that influence the overall performance of a video card... so i can't tell you which specification is more relevant since they all work together

if you're planning on buying a video card to play FS, this chart may help you:

...

these charts are the best way to find out what a specific card can to for you... and your game

remember that these frame rates may vary on your system.. but its a good reference anyways

hope this helps

The defining spec is the GPU, or Graphics Processing Unit.

It's the graphics chip. The more advanced it is, the better the video performance.

The amount of ram, core speeds etc, are all secondary considerations.

GPU specs can be extremely confusing, so best to use the above chart unless you have a lot of time for research.
